What’s the Twist?
It’s a croissant in a fun shape! It’s made by perfectly mixing, laminating, proofing and baking our scratch-made croissant dough. We make them in a variety of flavors, follow us on Instagram for the latest offerings.
It’s a 3-day process to make our Twists and we use the highest quality ingredients we can find. We cannot wait for you to try one!

About Us
Hi! My name is Sarah McVean and I am the founder and owner of Coffee With A Twist in Boise, Idaho. My husband and I have wanted to own our own shop ever since we met in 2016 and we are so excited that it’s finally happened. We have always loved trying different coffee shops and bakeries wherever we visited and we had the idea of combining all the great things we’ve seen in other shops and implementing our own style and taste, our own… twist, if you will ;) However, the most fun I’ve ever had in these shops was actually working at them! When I was in college, I spent Sundays working at a local coffee shop downtown, and later when I worked in Real Estate I spent my weekends working as a barista, purely for fun.
My husband’s family owned and operated bakeries and coffee shops for over 30 years, and with the help of my father-in-law and my husband’s self-induced insomnia, we created our own version of a French torsades, more commonly known as a Twist.
While we are obsessed with high-quality coffee with homemade sauces, syrups, and delicious French-inspired Twists, the reason we created this business was to cultivate a welcoming and loving environment for people in South East Boise to enjoy high-quality coffee and delicious pastries.
Where do we get our coffee?
When we set out to choose a roaster to partner with, we had a few qualities at the top of our list. First, the coffee needed to taste delicious. Second, the beans had to be sourced in a way that was both sustainable and ethical. And finally, we wanted to truly enjoy working with the people behind the brand. After countless tastings and more cups than we can count, Evan’s Brothers Coffee Roasters exceeded our expectations on every level. We’re proud to serve what we believe is the very best coffee in the valley.
Because we care just as much about our tea as our coffee, we chose to partner with Steep Mountain Tea, bringing you the most thoughtfully sourced blends we could find.
We were blessed to have some truly amazing people help bring our shop to life, and we couldn’t have done it without them! Our plumbing was handled by Blue Collar Plumbing and Professional Plumbing of Idaho. Johnny Hiller Carpentry took care of all of our woodworking and carpentry needs. Our electrical work was expertly handled by Tier 1 Electric. Our beautiful interior was designed with the help of Alex James and Elizabeth Kirkman. And for our logo and branding, we partnered with the talented Kelsie Brouillette.
